Makeup Review • NYX

On holiday last month in Spain I went on a desperate hunt for some tweezers (there's always something I forget to pack) and while out searching I came across a gloriously beautiful stand just calling my name!

Oh the selection was fabulous... How on earth is a girl supposed to choose just one item when there is such an array of beautiful colours?! To make it even worse, I was in the shop with my mum and sister who were both equally in love with pretty much everything! We each chose a lipstick / cream with a different finish so that once we got back home we would have three to share.

This is just a quick shot with nothing on my lips so that you can see exactly how the colours look on me, of course they will come up slightly differently on everyone but if your lips are a similar colour to mine this will give you a good idea of how they will look.

Here I am wearing NYX Round Lipstick in LSS635 Doll. This Lipstick went on absolutely beautifully, the colour was gorgeous, easy to blend and it was a smooth application. My lips didn't feel dry at all whilst wearing this and it has a slight subtle shine to it.
The packaging is gorgeous, sleek and simple, and the coloured part at the bottom means that when I get my hands on more of these fabulous lipsticks, there's a selection of 124, I will easily be able to see which is which without constantly having to take the lids off or even take them out of my bag!

This is the colour with just one stroke so that you can clearly see how opaque this lipstick is without the need to layer it up. This is a huge plus point as the lipstick also has great staying power, meaning it will last even longer without the need to constantly reapply!

Here I am wearing NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in 05 Bonfire. This cream is so easy to apply, it's described as a hybrid of lipstick, lip gloss and lip stain, and stays true to all of these descriptions. It applies like, and has the shine of a gloss, wears like a lipstick, and has the intense colour and staying power of a lip stain.

I can already tell this product is going to last brilliantly as there is easily enough for one application on the wand without needing to dip back into the bottle. I wear this to work and when I apply it at around seven thirty am, my lips are still fully covered five hours later when I go for lunch; once I've eaten the colour may need slightly blending but still would not need re-applying for a few more hours, fantastic!

You can see the beautiful creamy, glossy, but non sticky texture in this picture perfectly. The only slight downside to this cream is that it starts to gather in the corners of your mouth as the day goes on, but as I know this and now so do you its easy to wipe off and considering all of the positives including the amount of time it lasts for this seems rather insignificant.

Here I am wearing NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 08 San Paulo. This is again not a stick or a gloss but a combination of the two, and again applies smoothly without the need to dip back into the bottle for more. My lips didn't feel dry at all whilst wearing this cream and it smells absolutely delicious!
The packaging is classy, with a soft matte lid and bottle - great for the price! I personally love this colour and think its great to add a pop of colour whilst also being very wearable and easy to dress down for everyday wear or up for the evening; and again it's easy to see the colour when rummaging through a makeup bag.
This cream dries matte in under 30 seconds, which is great if like me you leave your lips till the last second before you run out the door, by the time I get in the car it's dry! This shows how opaque the cream is with just one swipe.

So there's my three faves at the moment, I can only hope Santa reads this and pops some more in my stocking, any you could recommend to him?

Sincerely Yours,
